Trace Nutrients
Trace nutrients are essential for plant growth but are needed in very small amounts. They are often present at sufficient levels or adequately supplied by compost and fertilizer additions.
Direct addition of trace nutrients is advanced-level fertility management. It should only be done to correct a documented deficiency (as determined by soil or plant tissue testing), and it must be done precisely and evenly to avoid causing toxicity, especially with boron.
Boron deficiency is quite common in Willamette Valley soils due to rain leaching, and many area farms supplement boron to improve plant health and yields. Deficiencies of other trace nutrients are less common.
**Note to certified organic producers: The 1# and 4# VitalVit sizes are repackaged by Concentrates and do not bear the original label or OMRI listing. In our experience they can be approved for Organic System Plans following submission of documentation from Concentrates. Due diligence recommended prior to purchase.**
